Trash (beige cart with green lid) is picked up once every week.  Recycle (beige cart with yellow lid) is picked up every other week.  You can recycle paper, plastics #1 and #2, aluminum beverage cans, and small pieces of cardboard. All containers, bottles, cans, etc. should be clean before you place them in your recycling cart.

TO ALL RESIDENTS – in order to ensure public safety, please be sure to remove your trash carts from the curb after pickup no later than the next day following the scheduled collection day ( as per the Code of Effingham County Article III, Section 66-104)

**For your pickup schedule, to request a replacement cart if yours is damaged, or to report a missed pickup, please call 964-2000.

Effingham County Dry Waste and Recycling Center

The Effingham County Dry Waste and Recycling Center is located at 2750 Courthouse Rd, Guyton.  Their days and times of operation are:  Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:00am to 5:30pm.  Telephone number is 754-4668, extension 6.

Collection Fees

• $0.09 per pound or $180 per ton.
• Metal can be dropped off for free.
